A testing program sponsored by the Computing Technology Industry Association (Comp TIA), A+ Certification is the building block for nearly all other IT certifications and the premier entry-level program for PC technicians. It covers a broad range of hardware and operating systems technology objectives so students are prepared for a successful entry-level computer service technician position as defined by nationwide industry experts. For certification, students must pass two exams: the Core Hardware Exam and the O/S Technologies Exam. This course covers Introduction to PC’s, Safety, PC Components, Miscellaneous Hardware, Windows Operating Systems, Troubleshooting and Preventive Maintenance, Hardware Installation and Configuration, Diagnostics & Repair, Printers, Printer Diagnostics and Troubleshooting, Local Area Network Overview, Network Connectivity, Wide Area Network Infrastructure, the Internet, Connecting to the Internet, Internet Service. Prerequisites: General user knowledge of Windows operating systems and familiarity with program installation.
