Computer Numerical Control (CNC)

This course is designed for those looking to upgrade their skills in the precision metalworking field through the use of CNC. Centered around a fully automated HASS vertical machining center, students will perform hands-on applications of operation, set-up, tooling, and programming. The course combines the use of precision machining, automation and technology for modern machining operations in an industry that demands hi-tech skills. Prerequisites: Blueprint reading and machining background helpful.

Heating & Air Conditioning

 HVAC:  Introduction (72 hrs.)

You will receive classroom instruction with a concentration on the installation of residential and light commercial heating and air-conditioning equipment.  Topics include: Terminology, component parts, reading wire diagrams, maintenance and repair of room-size and whole-house units, types of refrigerants, recover and reclaim procedures, and EPA rules and regulations.  Hands-on labs cover the following topics: wiring schematics, air-conditioning motors, meters (troubleshooting), leak testing, vacuum pumps, charging, brazing, silver soldering, and recovery and reclaim procedures.

HVAC:  CFC Certification (8 hrs.)

This seminar will cover a complete review of the EPA Section 608 test for refrigerant, transition, and recovery certification including new and proposed EPA and DOT regulations.  Testing is conducted the second session.  All instructional materials, as well as the ACCA Certification test, are included.  The course is taught by an ACCA Certified instructor.

This course provides theory and related hands-on experience with industrial and commercial heating and cooling systems. Topics include control circuit troubleshooting, metering devices, compressors, heat pumps, hydronic systems, CFC evacuation and recovery, and airside system air flow.  Prerequisite: Heating and Air Conditioning: Introduction.

This course is designed for do-it-yourselfers and hobbyists who want to learn how to operate portable welding equipment.  Topics include MIG welding, AC/DC stick welding, and oxyacetylene welding/cutting.
