Medical Billing & Coding* (900 Hours)                        

This 900-hour program is designed for those who wish to gain employment in medical billing and health information management in physician practices, outpatient clinics, billing companies as well as a variety of other medical facilities.

 

Students will develop a thorough knowledge of medical terminology, electronic medical records, practice management software, Microsoft Office 2007, medical office administration procedures, medical procedural coding, medical diagnostic coding, and reimbursement procedures.

 

Graduates will be well prepared for entry-level positions as medical office managers, medical records technicians, or billing and coding specialists.

 

Students will be required to complete a 180-hour externship during daytime working hours at the end of the program. Students will be eligible to participate in the National Healthcare Association Certified Medical Billing and Coding Specialist exam (CBCS) and Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA). Students will be required to have a routine physical, a criminal background check, updated immunization records, 2-Step Mantoux TB test, prior to participation in the externship portion of the program (to be discussed during orientation). Medical vaccines may be required by some training facilities.

Tuition Fee $6,395

Tuition includes textbooks, CBCS and CMAA examination fees.
