With the right software, your computer can be a recorder, mixer, editor, video production system, and even a musical instrument. This course will help you get the most out of your computer and turn it, and you, into a creative powerhouse. We will take a comprehensive look at software and hardware, and provide techniques for getting the most out of your music computer that will enable you to polish your demos into professional sounding finished recordings.

The Basics of Mixing (3 hrs.)
No piece of gear is more central to the recording studio than the mixing board. Mixing involves blending all of your separate tracks into one stereo pair suitable for listening. Learn the evolution of mixing, regional mixing styles, the elements of a mix, rules for arrangements and principles of building your mix! Learn how to make the connections, the crucial concepts, signal flow, balance and EQ, adding additional signal effects, and provide a final master mix of your sound. Multi-track recording, mixing a recording, and live mixing techniques will be covered.
