Each program features comprehensive, practical training for adults who are entering the workforce for the first time, changing careers, or need to upgrade their existing skills to remain competitive. Complete a Job Training Program at Polaris and you will master job skills and concepts that will maximize your potential. You will also be assisted in your search for the job that is right for you.

Medical Assisting

Natural Resources/Ranger/Basic Peace Officer Academy (OPOTA)
Nursing Assistant (STNA)

During instruction or upon completion of most Job Training Programs, you will receive:
- A Career Passport — documentation of your capabilities
- A Certificate of Completion (with 90% attendance and passing grades)
- Job Readiness Assistance – training in job seeking skills, resume writing, and interviewing techniques
- Job Search Assistance
- Industry Recognized Certifications
- National Career Readiness Certificate - credential that certifies the attainment of foundational workplace skills necessary to successfully enter employment
- Earn college credit in selected courses
Requirements for enrollment in a Job Training Program:
- High school diploma or GED
- Tuition payment due at the time of registration (for details, see Tuition Payment Plan in section entitled Registration Information)
- Pre-admission testing required for Dental Assisting
Note: Please be aware that many occupations require background checks and drug testing prior to employment.

Registration may be completed via phone, in person, or on-line if payment is made in full with a VISA or MasterCard.
Tuition Payment Plan

An interest free tuition payment plan is offered by the Adult Education Department for Job Training or Short-Term Training Programs.

The cost of the program will be divided into payments (depending on the length of the class) with an initial payment due at the time of registration.

A valid MasterCard or Visa must be on file when the Tuition Payment Plan arrangements are made with the Adult Education Office.

Polaris offers, at no additional cost, an automatic payment option for payments to be deducted on the student’s MasterCard or VISA on payment due dates.

Monthly payments are due the 1st of each month beginning with the month the program begins, except for the following: STNA – 2nd payment is due 1 week after class begins.
Cancellation
A $100 cancellation fee will be withheld from all program refunds. Books and supplies are non-refundable. Withdrawal from a Job Training or Short-Term Training Program prior to completion is considered official on the date the student notifies the Adult Education Administrator. Fees will continue until notification is made.
Discounts for Job Training Programs
Only one discount from the following may be applied:
Residents and/or high school graduates from the following communities are given a $100 discount on any of the Job Training or Short-Term Training Programs except EMT-Basic: Berea, Brook Park, Brooklyn, Fairview Park, Middleburg Hts., North Olmsted, Olmsted Falls, Olmsted Township and Strongsville
Polaris GED graduates are given a $100 discount on any of the Job Training Programs excep EMT-Basic.
