An Introduction to Professional Voice Acting

Have you ever been told that you have a great voice?  This exciting class will explore numerous aspects of voice acting work for television, film, radio, books on tape, documentaries and the Internet. We will cover all the basics, including how to prepare the all–important demo and how to be successful and earn great income in this exciting field. Students will have the opportunity to ask questions and to hear examples of demos recorded by professional voice actors.  Class participants will even have a chance to record a commercial script under the direction of a Voicecoaches.com producer! This class is informative, lots of fun, and a great first step for anyone interested in voice acting professionally.

Think outside the double mat!  We’ll introduce some creative mat designs and help you customize your own ideas onto your mat board.  Prerequisite:  Mat & Frame.  Bring all supplies and equipment used in the Mat & Frame class the first night.

Come and have fun, expand your skills or try something new!  Whether you've been painting for years or have not touched a brush since first grade, this class has something for you.   You will explore landscape, still life and figures.  Supply list will be mailed.

Decorative Tableware (2 hrs.)  NEW

Create elegant, one-of-a-kind decorative wine glasses with beads and wire.  This class will teach you how to wrap stemware and create designer décor for your table setting.  Once you get the techniques, you can wire wrap flatware as well.  Bring reading glasses if needed.  Materials fee includes four wine glasses, wire and beads.

Digital Photography:  Introduction (18 hrs.)

Charge your batteries and clean your lens!  Join this hands-on class and understand how to connect that new digital camera to your computer to download images to your printer or other storage devices, email your digital photographs to friends and family or even create an on-line photo gallery to share those amazing pictures that you took just a few moments ago.  Find out which digital camera and accessories are right for you, understand image capture and the digital dark room.  If you have a camea, please bring it along with the manual to the first class  Prerequisites:  Basic computer skills.

Digital Darkroom with Photoshop Elements (15 hrs.)  

Your digital camera has energized your inner-artist photographer.  Expand on those creative urges by adding the amazing array of skills you can employ in your digital darkroom.  The instructor, a photographer and graphic artist, will guide your way as you explore the tools found in PhotoShop Elements.  Learn to digitally remove red eye, dodge and burn, and adjust images using the healing brush.  You will even discover how to organize photos and do image restoration on those creased or dog-eared old film photos in the family albums.

Photography II (10 hrs.)

This class builds on techniques and concepts covered in Photography I and is designed for the advanced amateur to the aspiring professional.  Students will focus on personal areas of interest and will work toward completing a project in that area.  Composition, lighting and more will be covered.  Bring your camera, owner’s manual and questions to the first class.  This is not a class for “point and shoot” cameras.

Photography:  Designing Great Photographs (6 hrs.)

Do you want your photographs to be more than mere “snapshots”?  What makes a photograph stand out?  We will talk about creative techniques that will help you take photos that people will remember.  Geared to both film and digital shooters, you will learn to think creatively and look at light in a new way.

Creating Digital Photo Albums (4 hrs.)  NEW

Do you love to take pictures and want to be able to preserve them for years to come?  Do you struggle with the time to put together an album project?  This class will show you how to not only preserve your photos, but to do so quickly and easily.  The instructor will walk you through the album making process using Storybook Creator software.  Bring a CD of photos with you to the first class along with a flash drive or your own laptop computer.

Jewelry Making

 

Glass Beadmaking I:  Introduction (7 hrs.) 

Using modern tools, you will learn ancient techniques of  lampworking to create your own glass beads.  No experience necessary.  Class topics include safety procedures for working with hot glass, preparation and use of tools, and basic techniques for manipulating hot glass and winding beads.  Not only will you make beads in class, but you get to keep the torch, tools and supplies included in your supply fee so you can continue making beads on your own. Please wear natural fiber clothing and closed-toe shoes.  Plan to pin back your hair if it is longer than shoulder length.  Bring a one pound can of MAPP gas and a notebook.
