Welding* (600 hrs.)

 

Welding holds the world together, from the exhaust pipe on a car to the Space Shuttle.  Highly trained technicians in the welding and fabricating field maintain, repair and produce the products used in the manufacturing, structual, and fabrication industries.  Qualified welding and metal fabricating technicians are in high demand, have job stability, and have high earning potential.

 

Become a trained technician in the welding, fabricating and metallurgical trades and gain access to a growing and demanding field.  This program takes place in a comprehensive classroom and state-of-the art welding lab.  It is designed to teach you practical applications and theory related to the welding trade, while preparing you for the American Welding Society (AWS) certifications and exams.  The  National Center for Construction Education & Research (NCCER) credential may also be achieved.

  • Blueprint Fundamentals
  • Reading Welding Symbols  
  • Oxyfuel Cutting, Welding, and Brazing
  • Base Metal Preparations
  • Weld Quality
  • SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding or Stick Welding)
  • SMAW Equipment and Setup
  • SMAW Electrodes and Selection
  • SMAW Groove Welds with Backing
  • SMAW Open V-Groove Welds
  • SMAW Open-Root Pipe Welds
  • SMAW Vertical Welding
  • Plasma Arc Cutting
  • Basic GTAW (Gas Tungsten Arc Welding, TIG)
  • Basic GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding, MIG)
  • Theory, Welding and Machine Operation

All instructional materials and welding helmets are included.  Students are given the opportunity to earn National Center for Construction Education & Research (NCCER) Certification in Core Curriculum and Welding Level 1 and may also be eligible to earn Americian Welding Society certifications.

Class fee $4,459    Materials fee $400    Total $4,859

Tuition includes textbooks and test fee.
