Connect to the world and enter the exciting field of Information Technology (IT). IT careers are now part of most businesses. They offer many advantages: interesting work, high pay, and opportunities for advancement and continued growth.
The Computer Networking Technology (CNT) program helps prepare you for a career in Information Technology with a networking specialization. CNT is a College Tech Prep program where you can earn up to 30 semester hours of college credits while still in high school! College credit is earned by maintaining good grades and passing industry certification tests.
Upon high school graduation, you can request a transcript from Cuyahoga Community College (CCC) indicating which courses you have completed while attending Polaris. The CCC transcript may then be submitted to CCC or other colleges for credit.
To enroll in the Computer Networking Technology program, you must have successfully completed Algebra I and the reading section of the OGT prior to your junior year. Students must complete Algebra II by the end of their junior year. Employment requires a variety of skills, especially analytical, organizational, motivational, and teamwork. You should be familiar with a Windows Operating System and have strong math and reading skills.
The CNT program prepares you for the following industry certifications: CompTIA A+, Cisco CCNA Intro, and Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP). Independent study options are available for CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA and Microsoft MCSA for qualified students.
