Junior English

 Class Info:

Junior English is an eleventh grade language arts class.  We focus on American Literature in this course.  Homework assignments are rarely given; any homework normally consists of either make-up work from absences or completing assignments from class that students legitimately need more time to complete.

It is not my intention to give quizzes or tests in this class; however, the needs of the students in this class will dictate whether or not I will stick to this policy.  I prefer to maintain a project-based course, because that provides many different opportunities for students to demonstrate their knowledge.  I do realize, however, that this can be a difficult adjustment for many students who are used to quizzes and tests for assessment.  If that structure is needed and desired by my students, then I shall adapt my course to best suit their needs.

Welcome to Junior English!  Class supplies are due on Friday, January 26, 2007.  You must show me your supplies in class, and you will receive 15 points for doing so.

Also, don't forget that you must have your planner with you and you must be wearing your ID every day!  I will check these daily for class points, beginning on 1/23/07, so don't forget them!  Temporary IDs do not count for points!

I'm really looking forward to this semester; I know it's going to be great!
