a) catalysts, facilitating change
b) resistors, inhibiting change
3) Which of these "states of technological learning" are you facing at present?

The ASCD provides the following description for Jensen's book:

Teaching With The Brain in Mind(book)

Every year, millions of parents trust that the professionals who teach their children know something about the brain and processes of learning. But most schools of education offer psychology, not neurology, courses. At best, these psychology courses provide indirect information about the brain and how children actually learn. "Teaching with the Brain in Mind" fills this gap with the latest practical, easy-to-understand research on learning and the brain. It balances the research and theory of the brain with successful tips and techniques for using that information in classrooms. From its primer on brain biology to in-depth discussions of emotion, memory, and recall, "Teaching with the Brain in Mind" is an invaluable tool for any educator looking to better reach students through truly brain-compatible teaching and learning. 1998 ASCD Book. [approx. 135 pages, 8 x 10].

    LessonLab Format
Participants in the 1997-98 Institute Teacher's Academy will review the Ohio SchoolNet's LessonLab model as a format for developing lessons embedding technology and the State of Ohio's proficiencies into their own lessons. Participants will each develop lessons integrating technology into a lesson consistent with their skills within the SchoolNet Novice, Practitioner, Scholar, Expert matrix of teacher proficiencies. Participants will develop MultiMedia skills along with skills using scanners, cameras, CD ROMs, and the Internet. Once familiar with this new medium, each participant will produce one MultiMedia presentation expressing their own reactions and perceived implications of "The Children's Machine," upon the teaching profession.

The ILT has a list of links involving the compelling use of the Internet through inquiry and internet Search Lessons.  We also have another page used to demonstrate compelling uses from the Savvy Cyber Teacher program.
