Polaris Career Center has teamed up with the Abitibi Recycling to bring you an exciting paper recycling program.  The program will help Polaris reduce solid waste disposal costs and divert paper from local landfills.  Residents, staff and students can pitch in by bringing recyclable paper materials to the recycling bin located on the Polaris campus.  The bin, also known as the “Paper Retriever,” is located along the exit drive on the northwest side of the building.  The bin is accessible during regular school hours and on weekends when the building is open.

The “Paper Retriever” is emptied on a regular basis, and at the end of each month, Polaris earns revenue based on the weight of the bin contents.  All revenues benefit the Polaris Educational Foundation and the Polaris Education Association Scholarship Fund.  The Polaris Educational Foundation helps high school students in need pay course fees and provides scholarships for post-secondary education.  The Polaris Education Association Scholarship Fund provides scholarships for exemplary Polaris students who want to continue their education beyond high school.

For Polaris staff and student convenience, paper recycling bins will also be strategically located throughout the inside of the building.

This is a great opportunity to help the community, save your environment, and help students succeed.
