Chemical Operator Program
Learn the valuable skills necessary to work as a Chemical Operator without having to leave home or while working full-time. The online Chemical Operator program will prepare you for a highly-skilled and well-paying job in the chemical industry.
The chemical processing industry is anticipating a severe shortage of skilled technicians as an increasing number of current employees near retirement, and existing plants are being modernized with state-of-the-art equipment and processing methods. The chemical operator of today and tomorrow must possess advanced knowledge of mechanical, electrical and chemical processes, and have a solid background in math, science and computer skills to understand and solve problems relating to equipment and performance. In addition, the chemical operator must have the skills to be an effective team player and be able to communicate with all levels of plant management. With our certificate program, all this and more can be accomplished. With the help of industry representatives, the curriculum has been tailored to teach the skills that new and existing employees need.
Polaris Career Center, in partnership with Washington State Community College, is offering this 45-credit hour program which consists of courses covering basic mechanical systems, fundamental safety, health and environmental issues, basic math and science, workplace communications, and the computer and Internet skills necessary for online learning.
This online program has been tailored to meet the needs of new and existing technicians while offering the ultimate in convenience, allowing students to learn at home while working full-time.
