Basic Rider Course 2

Questions? Call 1-800-83-RIDER.

Motorcycle safety reports indicate that 75% of motorcycle crashes involve “experienced” riders. To address the need for training of experienced riders, Polaris Career Center offers the Basic Rider Course 2 (BRC2). Basic Rider Course 2 is designed for the experienced rider who has been riding for at least six months and wants to learn more about reducing the risk of riding and then practice what they have learned on their motorcycle.

The program consists of 5 hours of training and practice on your motorcycle in a parking lot under the watchful and helpful eye of a trained instructor. If you ride with a passenger, your passenger may also enroll in the course.

In this course, you’ll learn how to improve your riding skills on your motorcycle.  Topics include:

  • Control at low speed
  • Stopping quickly
  • Cornering judgment
  • Multiple curves
  • Limited-space maneuvers
  • Control-skills practice
  • Hazard avoidance
  • Cornering finesse

Your Instructors are certified by the Motorcycle Safety Foundation and Motorcycle Ohio and all exercises are conducted in a parking lot at parking lot speeds of less than 20 miles per hour.

There are no tests in this course as it is not a pass or fail experience. The Basic Rider Course 2 allows the student to increase their understanding of safe riding techniques and to practice these techniques on their motorcycle.
