Scooter School Course Agreement
PLEASE READ AND UNDERSTAND THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION AS YOU MUST AGREE TO ABIDE BY THE FOLLOWING OR YOU WILL NOT BE PERMITTED TO REGISTER OR PARTICIPATE IN THE COURSE AND YOUR TUITION WILL NOT BE REFUNDED. IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS PLEASE CONTACT US AT bc5050@frontier.com.
- You must have experience riding a bicycle and have a motorcycle endorsement on your valid driver’s license or a valid motorcycle temporary permit. If you do not own a scooter loaner scooters are available.
- If you use your scooter in this course it must have a gasoline-powered engine with an engine displacement between 50-200cc, be of a step-through design, and be manufactured to meet U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations for use on public streets and roads. Scooters certified to be used on the street will have “DOT” stamped on the rear wheel. Gopeds, skateboards and electric-powered types of scooters available for private property use do not meet DOT standards and are not permitted in this course.
- Scooters will be inspected by an Instructor prior to the riding session and Polaris and reserves the right to reject any scooters which do not appear to be street legal or in good operating condition.
- You must bring with you: Proof of current insurance with policy start and end dates shown and your registration showing you own the scooter.
- All Classes start promptly! Allow sufficient time for traffic, weather. Etc. Please be prompt, as you will not be admitted once the published class time begins, and your tuition is non-refundable.
- Make sure you know your class dates and times when registering for this course.
- The day of our class, a classroom number will be posted at the main entrance of the building and please bring an ink pen to fill out forms.
- You must wear full protective clothing at all times including: A DOT approved helmet, eye Protection, long Sleeved shirt or jacket, long pants without any holes, full fingered gloves, and sturdy over the ankle foot wear. Some loaner helmets are available.
- This is not a license waiver course and does not require passing a knowledge or skill test for completion. Scooterists and prospective scooterists should check with their state’s Department of Motor Vehicles for laws affecting scooters in their state.
- To successfully complete this program, you must have 100% attendance.
- Walk in Procedure – No waiting list is maintained for this program. This walk-in procedure is for persons not already enrolled in any other ERC class. Non-registered (walk-in) students will be accepted up to ½ hour prior to scheduled start time if space permits.
- Note – minors must have a parent or guardian attend the first ½ hour of class to sign the necessary waivers.
