Let the Polaris Career Center Cosmetology Academy prepare you for challenging career in this exciting, cutting-edge field.  Gain hands-on experience in the Polaris Career Center New Beginnings Salon while obtaining the industry knowledge necessary for your Cosmetology license.

Acquire skills commonly used in cosmetology in the following areas:

  • Dispensary operations
  • Sanitation
  • Reception duties
  • Salon management

Emphasis will be placed on the hands-on practice of:

  • Scalp care and hair treatments
  • Shaping and cutting hair
  • Styling hair
  • Permanent waving
  • Hair relaxing and coloring
  • Hair highlighting and toning
  • Manicuring and pedicuring
  • Facial treatments
  • Wig and hairpiece care

Monday – Thursday
4:00 PM – 9:00 PM
September 9, 2013 – June, 2015 (approximate ending date)

Tuition Fee: $11,995
Tuition includes textbooks, tool kit with mannequins, nail kit, smock, supplies, materials and State Board examination fee.

Students registering for the Cosmetology Academy will need to show their high school or GED diploma and proof of residency (utility bill, etc.).

Since the Cosmetology Academy is a 2-year program, qualified students will have access to two years of Pell Grant funding consisting of one 900-hour award and one 600-hour award.  Call the Financial Aid Coordinator at (440) 891-7668 for additional information.
