Dental Assisting – Accredited
(900 Hours) Financial Aid Eligible Program
A career as a dental assistant offers many opportunities and the field is growing faster than average occupations according to the United States Bureau of Labor Statistics. As valuable members of the dental care team, assistants greatly increase the efficiency of the dentist in the delivery of quality oral health care. In this course you’ll learn all the skills you need for entry-level employment.
This program is accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation. Upon completion of the program, students are eligible to take the Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) examination.

Dental Assisting students will have the opportunity to gain practical experience through a 310-hour, unpaid externship (additional days may be required for the externship). Students will be required to have a routine physical, a criminal background check, and purchase their own uniforms. Immunizations will be required prior to participation in the clinical portion of the program.

Polaris Career Center Dental Assisting Program Opens the Door to Case Western Reserve University
Polaris Career Center has an agreement with the Expanded Function Dental Assisting (EFDA) Program at Case Western Reserve University. Students who successfully complete the Polaris adult dental assisting program and obtain their Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) credential will have the minimum two-year experience as a dental assistant in general dentistry requirement waived, allowing them to apply to the EFDA Program immediately.
