(900 Hours) Financial Aid Eligible Program (For those who qualify)

This 900-hour program is designed for those who wish to gain employment in medical billing, coding and health information management. Employment opportunities include physician practices, outpatient clinics, billing companies as well as a variety of other medical facilities. Students will develop a thorough knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, diseases and conditions, electronic health records, practice management software, medical office administration practices, diagnostic and procedural coding, hospital billing, reimbursement and claim form procedures, employability skills and healthcare law and ethics. Graduates will be prepared for entry-level positions as medical administrative assistants, electronic health records specialists, and medical billing and coding specialists.

Students will complete a 180-hour unpaid externship during daytime working hours towards the end of the program. A minimum of 90% attendance with a C average or better is required for students to participate in the externship opportunity.

Students will be eligible to take the National HealthCareer Association Certified Medical Billing and Coding Specialist (CBCS), exam, Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA), and the Certified Electronic Health Records Specialist (CEHRS) exam. Healthcare providers may require immunizations for students participating in externships. It is highly recommended the student have keyboarding skills with some experience in Microsoft Word & Excel.

Tuition Fee: $9,495 (includes non-refundable materials fee of $1,505)
Tuition includes textbooks and examination fees.
Student can expect the following additional costs: immunizations and/or titres and physical exam.
