Precision/CNC Machine Technology

(600 Hours) Financial Aid Eligible Program

Be prepared to enter the high-pay, high-tech field of precision machining.  Journeyman machinists, die makers, mold makers and CNC programmers/operators enjoy stable employment in the dynamic environment of manufacturing.  Individuals considering careers in all aspects of manufacturing will benefit.

NIMSAll participants will be given the opportunity to earn Level 1 credentials from the National Institute for Metalworking Skills, Inc. (NIMS).

This practical, hands-on curriculum includes:

  • Applied Mathematics, Blueprint Interpretation, Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing
  • Project Work on Lathes, Mills, Surface Grinders
  • CNC/CAD/CAM Fundamentals
  • Manufacturing Safety and Job Planning
  • Hand Tools and Drilling Machines
  • Inspection Instruments and Quality Control
  • Metallurgy and Heat Treating
  • Web-based Instruction in Partnership with Tooling University
  • This coursework has been approved by the Bureau of Apprenticeship Training for existing company-sponsored apprenticeship programs.
