(90 Hours)

State Tested Nursing Assistants gain employment caring for diverse patient populations including the elderly in long-term care settings, assisted living facilities, home care environments and hospitals. The program is state-approved and consists of mandatory attendance for classroom/clinical hours. The STNA exam is included in the tuition and is offered to students after successful completion of the program. Medicare approved Home Health Aide certification and American Heart Association Basic Life Support (CPR) certification is also included. The 2-step Mantoux TB test is required before class begins. Immunizations may be required and the cost is the responsibility of the student. Employers/clinical sites may require a background check. Uniform requirements will be discussed on the first day of class.

The course will cover, but is not limited to, the following:

  • Personal protective equipment
  • Use of a gait belt for transfers and ambulation
  • Toileting residents
  • Use of a bedpan
  • Assisting with dressing and feeding
  • Personal care skills, including: mouth care, perineal care, and bathing/hair care
  • Vital signs: temperatures, pulse, respiration and blood pressure

Monday – Thursday, 8:00 AM – 1:30 PM, October 13, 2014 – November 11, 2014

Spring 2015
Monday – Thursday, 8:00 AM – 1:30 PM, January 20, 2015 – February 19, 2015
Monday – Thursday, 8:00 AM – 1:30 PM, February 23, 2015 – March 24, 2015
Monday – Thursday, 8:00 AM – 1:30 PM, April 13, 2015 – May 12, 2015

Tuition Fee: $995 (No Discounts) (includes non-refundable materials fee of $290)
Tuition includes textbook, CPR fees and STNA test fee.

Students can expect the following additional costs: immunizations and/or titres, uniform and 2-Step Mantoux TB test.
