(90 Hours)

State Tested Nurse Assistants gain employment caring for diverse patient populations including the elderly in long-term care settings, assisted living facilities, home care environments and hospitals. This program is state-approved and consists of mandatory attendance for classroom/clinical hours. The STNA exam is included in the fee and is offered to the students after successful completion of the program.  Medicare approved Home Health Aide Certification and American Heart Association Basic Life Support (CPR) certification is also included. The 2-step Mantoux TB test is required. The first step of the Mantoux TB test must be completed prior to the start of class. Immunizations may be required and the cost of the immunizations are the responsibility of the student. Students will be required to have a criminal background check prior to participating in clinicals.

The course will cover, but is not limited to, the following:

  • Personal protective equipment
  • Use of a gait belt for transfers and ambulation
  • Toileting residents
  • Use of a bedpan
  • Assisting with dressing
  • Assisting with feeding
  • Personal care skills, including: mouth care, perineal care, and bathing/hair care
  • Vital signs: temperatures, pulse, respiration and blood pressure

Tuition Fee: $995 (No Discounts) (includes non-refundable materials fee of $290)
Tuition includes textbook, CPR fees and STNA test fee.

Students can expect the following additional costs: immunizations and/or Titres, uniform and TB test.
