Nursing Assistant (STNA)

(90 Hours)

State Tested Nursing Assistants gain employment caring for diverse patient populations including the elderly in long-term care settings, assisted living facilities, home care environments and hospitals.  Our program is State-approved and consists of mandatory attendance for classroom/clinical hours. The STNA exam is included in the fee and is offered to our students after successful completion of the program.  Medicare approved Home Health Aide Certification and American Heart Association Basic Life Support (CPR) Certification is also included. The 2-step Mantoux TB test is required before class begins.

The course will cover, but is not limited to, the following:

  • Personal protective equipment
  • Use of a gait belt for transfers and ambulation
  • Toileting residents
  • Use of a bedpan
  • Assisting with dressing
  • Assisting with feeding
  • Personal care skills, including: mouth care, perineal care, bathing/hair care
  • Vital signs: temperatures, pulse, respiration and blood pressure
