Job Placement/Employment Resource Center

With good skills

And good attitudes.

One of the goals of career-technical skill training at Polaris is job placement.  There are several options for students who successfully meet the criteria for placement in a job related to their program training.  Some students are placed as early as the second semester of their junior year at Polaris, others may select an internship for their senior year, while most seniors will begin an early placement position for the second semester .  Good attendance, employability skills -  positive attitudes and behaviors, adaptability, problem solving, and working with others, as well as career-technical training skills are important for students to learn.  Once those skills are in place, students work with the Employment Resource Specialist and the program instructor to secure appropriate job placement.

The Employment Resource Center (ERC) assists students in gaining the employability skills needed in today’s workplace.  Students receive lessons in resume writing, communication skills, conflict resolution, and time management as well as the opportunity to participate in mock interviews.  Time spent in the ERC is specifically designed to assist students in meeting employer needs.  Polaris alumni who successfully completed a career-technical program may contact the Employment Resource Center to assist them in finding employment.
