Medical Professions
You enjoy multitasking. You have a caring personality. You work well under pressure. You might want to consider a career in the medical field.
Modern technology and medicine have added years to people’s lives and have improved their quality of life. As a result, the healthcare industry is one of the major growth areas in employment.
As a Medical Professions student you will learn to perform routine administrative and clinical procedures to keep the offices and clinics of physicians, podiatrists, chiropractors and optometrists running smoothly. In addition, you will receive hands-on instruction on providing nursing care in skilled nursing facilities and/or hospitals. You will also be given the opportunity to become a State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA).
Coursework includes instruction in anatomy & physiology, medical ethics, medical terminology, office procedures, medical records, laboratory skills and personal healthcare.
