Goals of the Institute:

Involve 20-40 teachers from each associate district plus the Polaris faculty in an intensive, on-going improvement experience that will impact positively on the personal and professional lives of the instructors, and the learning experiences of their students.

Establish a high tech classroom which has all of the capabilities of Schoolnet, Schoolnet Plus, and the Ohio Telecommunity.

Engage in curriculum development projects which integrate technology in powerful and appropriate ways.

Demonstrate and provide preview, instruction, assessment and evaluation experiences for teachers with hardware, software and technology-based instructional strategies.

Collaborate and disseminate information on technology projects and training opportunities.

In addition to teacher-training functions, the Institute may serve as a training site for network managers and other school district employees. Access for adult education and community groups will be considered.
