High School Aeronautics Instructor

We are currently seeking a full-time Aeronautics instructor for our high school program.

STARTING DATE: August 2019
REPORTS TO: Assistant Principal
SALARY: Appropriate step on teachers’ salary schedule, commensurate with experience and education.
  • $46,757.00 - $69,435.00 (Bachelor’s Degree)
  • $51,667.00 - $76,917.00 (Master’s Degree)
  • Up to ten years of experience credited.
BENEFITS: Hospitalization, dental, vision, prescription and term life insurance; up to three (3) approved personal days per year; sick leave. Professional development opportunities.
WORK WEEK/YEAR: 185 days as per Board-approved calendar.


Requirements:

  • Ohio Teacher Certification in Aviation Careers - or - 3 to 5 years of experience in aeronautics will give you the ability to obtain an initial four-year Alternative Resident Educator license working towards licensure.
  • Technology-related skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
  • Effective student/parent/community communication skills and instructional techniques.


Desirable Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Previous teaching experience.
  • Current Airframe and Powerplant (A & P) certifications.
  • FAA certification to be eligible to instruct ground school for private pilots.
  • Pilot license with current FAA instructor rating.
  • Broad range of experience in the aeronautics field.
  • Minimum of five years of related experience (three years of which are recent) in aviation, aerospace, aeronautics or related field.
  • Experience in the latest aeronautics field trends (i.e. Drone Technology).
