Automotive Technology

Automotive Aftermarket Scholarships

Eligibility Criteria:  Graduating high school seniors planning to attend PCC’s Adult Education Automotive Service Technician Program qualify.  No GPA requirement.

AmericanMuscle Scholarship
4 x $2000 scholarships for students pursuing an automotive themed major (mechanical engineering, robotics etc.) Two scholarships will be awarded every spring semester, followed by two additional scholarships to be awarded for the fall semester each year.

Cosmetology

The Joe Francis Haircare Scholarship Foundation

Eligibility Criteria:
To be considered, applicant must be currently applying for entrance into Cosmetology/Barber School, OR actively enrolled in a Cosmetology/Barber program. Open to First Year Cosmetology Academy students only.

HVAC/R

PHCC Educational Foundation Scholarships
Attracting new talent is essential to the future of the plumbing-heating-cooling (p-h-c) industry. The PHCC Educational Foundation and its industry partners are teaming up to identify and aid students pursuing a career in the p-h-c industry. The purpose of these scholarship programs is to help students prepare for careers in the plumbing-heating-cooling (p-h-c) profession.

Eligibility Criteria:
A full-time certificate or degree program at an accredited technical college, or trade school, with a major directly related to the plumbing-heating-cooling (p-h-c) profession.

Rees Scholarship

Eligibility Criteria:
Must be enrolled in an HVAC/R training program at an institutionally accredited school.

4 x $2000 scholarships to students (including high school seniors) pursuing a career in the traditional building trades such as HVAC, carpentry, electrical, or related fields of study. Two scholarships will be awarded every spring semester, followed by two additional scholarships to be awarded for the fall semester each year.

Precision Machining Technology

Nordson BUILDS Scholarship Program
The mission of Nordson BUILDS is to attract and develop a diverse, highly-skilled talent pool for careers in the manufacturing industry.  It is designed to help bright and motivated students access and complete postsecondary education by lessening the financial barriers of enrolling in college for many, and decreasing the loan burden for individuals that apply for financial aid.  Students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to be eligible to receive a Nordson BUILDS Scholarship.
 
Eligibility Criteria:
Selection will be based on an overall assessment of academic performance, leadership skills, character, community service, school involvement, and the applicant's career/college major fit.

Nuts, Bolts, & Thingamajigs Scholarship
Since 1990, FMA’s foundation, Nuts, Bolts & Thingamajigs® (NBT), has awarded scholarships to students majoring in programs that lead to careers in manufacturing. Scholarships are awarded in the spring and fall of each year.
 
Eligibility Criteria:
  • Submit an online application
  • Transcript from last completed semester of whichever school you last attended
 Deadline: Jan 1-Mar 31 for Fall Term. July 1-Sep 30 for Spring Term.

2021 College Now Greater Cleveland Manufacturing Scholarship

DESCRIPTION

College Now provides scholarship opportunities to graduating high school seniors and adult students who are interested in a training program, specifically in the field of manufacturing with the result leading to a license/certification or degree.

If selected, the scholarship can be used for education-related purposes only.

REQUIREMENTS

You must meet the following guidelines to be eligible to apply:
1. Must be a graduating high school senior, have already graduated from high school or have successfully earned their G.E.D.
2. Must be a resident of Cuyahoga, Lake, Lorain, Portage or Summit County.
3. Pursuing an eligible non-degree certificate, license or degree in a vocational or technical program that is up to 2 years in length. Individuals already having obtained a bachelor’s degree are not eligible.
4. Must be attending a public or private not-for-profit college, university, technical / career or certified training center.

You must complete the following to submit your online application:
- A 300-word essay expressing why you want to complete your particular training program.

You must submit the following supporting documents:
1. A 2020/2021 Student Aid Report (SAR) from the FAFSA. If selected, a recent tax return or income statement may be necessary to verify financial need.
2. Proof of high school graduation or GED completion.
3. A billing statement from training program as proof of enrollment.
4. You must agree to a consultation interview with College Now Greater Cleveland Adult Programs Specialist Rome Busa prior to selection of recipients. Mr. Busa can be reached at 216.635.6115 or rbusa@collegenowgc.org

You can attach the supporting documents to your application. If you are not able to upload them to your application, then you can still submit your application and mail, fax or email the supporting documents to College Now separately, but they must be received in order for your application to be complete.

Welding 

American Welding Society National, District, & Section Scholarships
AWS offers scholarship funds that, once awarded, are payable directly to the school to which you have been accepted. It can be used towards the cost of tuition, books, supplies and related institutional costs.
 
Eligibility Criteria: 
  • Most importantly, you must be enrolled in a welding-related educational or training program.
  • You must also be a high school graduate or possess a GED equivalent.
  • The school you attend must be in the United States or its territories, except for international scholarships.
  • You must also fill out the scholarship application and provide any documentation requested in the application instructions.
  • Some Districts may require AWS membership while other Districts may not. To apply for student membership, please visit the Student Membership page.
