2011 Hall of Fame

Our seventh Hall of Fame inductee class consists of an exceptional former student.  Robert A. Stout, a former Auto Mechanics student, leveraged his Polaris career-technical experience to pursue a distinguished career in the automotive repair industry. We are proud of his accomplishments and appreciate the role he serves as a business leader and Polaris ambassador.  Stout was officially inducted into the Polaris Hall of Fame during a ceremony on April 6, 2011.

Polaris Program:
Auto Mechanics (1980 Graduate, Berea High School)
Current Employment:
Fuerst Automotive, Broadview Heights, Ohio

Robert A. Stout developed an interest in vehicle repair at a very young age.  In fact, his original childhood dream was to be a motorcycle mechanic.  Fortunately, Polaris provided him with a “vehicle” to foster this interest.

Bob completed his two years in the Polaris Auto Mechanics (now Automotive Technology) program and graduated from Berea High School in 1980.  After graduation, he became a service manager at Conrad’s, the employer he was placed in while attending Polaris.  After honing his skills and building a top performing store, Stout went into business for himself and purchased Fuerst Automotive, the award-winning business he still owns today.  For three years in a row, Fuerst has been the recipient of the AC Delco National Achievement Award, recognized as one of the top 40 out of 8,500 service facilities in the United States.

Bob is extremely active in the community.  He has helped develop hybrid and after-market courses for Cuyahoga Community College.  In addition, he serves on a number of advisory boards and committees including:
  • Automotive Technology and GM Automotive Service Educational Program (ASEP) Advisory Councils - Cuyahoga Community College
  • AC Delco National Advisory Board
  • North Royalton Schools Business Advisory Council
  • Jobbers Automotive – Steering Committee
He is also the President-elect of the North Royalton/Broadview Heights Rotary Club.  Stout currently lives in North Royalton with his wife, Sheri, and three children, Amber, Kayla and Mitch.
