We’re proud to announce the hiring of internationally recognized fashion designer Jevon Terance as the instructor for our new Fashion Design & Merchandising Program. With nearly 20 years of professional experience, Terance brings an exceptional blend of industry expertise, entrepreneurship, creative vision and real-world connections to this innovative program.
A lifelong resident of Lorain, Ohio, Terance is the founder and owner of the Jevon Terance Fashion Line, established in 2007. What began as a passionate hobby inspired by his love of sneakers quickly evolved into a recognizable fashion brand. His early interest in design grew into creating original clothing for both men and women, earning him respect and recognition within the fashion industry.
Terance has showcased his collections on some of the world’s most prestigious stages. He has participated in New York Fashion Week multiple times between 2018 and 2025 and was invited to present his work during Paris Fashion Week in 2015, showcasing his collection on the Champs-Élysées in Paris, France. Since launching his brand, Terance has participated in countless fashion shows and has produced more than 30 of his own fashion events. His brick-and-mortar boutique is located in Lorain, Ohio, and his work is represented through showrooms in both Miami and New York City.
In addition to his industry success, Terance has a long-standing commitment to youth education and mentorship. Since 2009, he has worked with young people through organizations such as Ohio Guidestone. In 2016, he began instructing youth-focused fashion design programs and currently serves as an Artist in Residence at the Lorain Public Library, where he teaches sewing, sneaker design and fashion technology. Terance also leads a mentorship program with Kent State University, where he has mentored more than 60 Fashion Design and Merchandising students for university credit. He additionally serves on the Lorain Port Authority Board and the Lorain Police Use of Force Committee.
Terance’s work has extended into celebrity styling and film production. His designs have been worn by notable clients including WWE wrestler Natalya Neidhart, Hollywood director Steven Caple Jr. and NBA All-Star Chris Paul. In 2021, he was selected to join the design team for the film Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, creating custom pieces for the film production.
Polaris Superintendent Diane Xander shares her enthusiasm for Terance’s hiring. “Jevon is a well-known fashion designer who brings a wealth of industry background and experience to this exciting new program. He is not only a successful entrepreneur, but also someone with a genuine passion for mentoring young people. His energy, creativity and real-world expertise will be a tremendous asset to the students and this program.”
