Our program takes place in a cutting-edge classroom, lab, and simulation setting, where you will experience the latest advancements in the field, preparing you for success in the healthcare industry. We have a strong network of hospital partnerships, giving you the incredible opportunity to learn from experienced professionals in a real-world hospital environment.
The Practical Nursing program is pending approval from the Ohio Board of Nursing, Council on Occupational Education, and Ohio Department of Higher Education.

We designed our Practical Nursing program with the goal to prepare you for a successful career in nursing. Combining classroom teaching with hands-on skills and simulation exercises, our nursing program prepares you for the real world healthcare setting.
Dr. Johnson boasts a diverse background in academia and clinical practice. He has worked as an administrator and faculty at Cleveland State University, Nevada State University, the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. He earned his PhD in Nursing Science from Medical University of South Carolina.
His extensive research and expertise focus on health disparities and inequities, resulting in over 20 research articles and textbook chapters and 40 conference presentations. He has a broad clinical history spanning pediatrics, pediatric critical care, psychiatric mental health, and corrections/jail nursing. Dr. Johnson is a Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing, board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse, and Certified Nurse Educator.
