student holding award

Nicholas Holloway, a Fairview senior in our Computer Networking Academy, is the first-ever Polaris student to earn the Global Information Assurance Certification in Foundational Cybersecurity Technologies (GFACT). As a junior, Nick participated in the CyberStart America contest and earned the distinction of a National Cyber Scholar. This designation earned him free courseware from the SANS Foundation and a free certification voucher for the GFACT Certification (valued at over $3000!). Nick successfully earned the credential this fall.

After graduation, he hopes to enter the IT field in an entry-level capacity and enroll at Tri-C with plans to major in cyber-security or computer science. With tuition help from his employer, he hopes to pursue a four-year degree with the ultimate goal of becoming a cyber-security analyst.

We are proud of Nick’s accomplishments and know GREAT things are on the horizon! Congratulations!
